Bucca Brand ready for mainstream following takeover

Share

A new army of anglers will be introduced to an established brand as it moves into the mainstream of fishing following its acquisition by GSM Outdoors.

Bucca Brand, the maker of the Bull Shad, has joined the growing Texas stable that includes Yamamoto Baits, Steelshad, Bill Lewis, Buckeye Lures and a swathe of hunting and archery product suppliers.

“We are super excited about our new partnership with GSM Outdoors,” said Bucca owner Mike Bucca. “The swimbait market has grown in leaps and bounds from when I began making them and this new venture gives us the opportunity to move further into the mainstream. I see it as an opportunity to continue to introduce more anglers at all levels of fishing to hard swimbaits.

“Our Baby Bull Shad and Gill have been instrumental in helping new generations of anglers experience a bigger and more consistent bite at a price that is super affordable,” said Bucca. “Now, as we move into the future with GSM and our ABS line, we have a renewed sense of energy and commitment to the fishing community. For our loyal customers, nothing has changed here at Bull Shad. My team and I will continue to make our resin swimbaits in Georgia, while the ABS ‘Bucca Brand’ through GSM will allow us to reach the everyday fisherman.”

Crispin Powley, GSM Senior VP of Fishing added: “I’ve known Mike Bucca for 20 years and I’ve personally caught some of my biggest bass on his creations. To say I’m a fan is an understatement. We have every intention of utilising his talent and pairing it with our world-class manufacturing to offer anglers quality baits that deliver premium performance at a price they consider a value.”
