Multiple awards show Energofish’s power now lies beyond bait

Share

Four Best New Product awards at a single EFTTEX is an achievement few companies in the global tackle industry can claim.

At EFTTEX 2026, Hungarian manufacturer and distributor Energofish demonstrated both the breadth of its product development capabilities and the growing international relevance of its brands by securing four Best New Product titles across four different categories.

The achievement is particularly significant because the awards did not come from a single product segment. Instead, Energofish collected honours in apparel, reels, lures and bait, underlining a strategy that has evolved far beyond the company’s traditional strengths and highlighting its ambition to become a comprehensive supply partner for tackle retailers and distributors across Europe.

For more than three decades, Energofish has been one of the most recognisable names in the Central and Eastern European fishing tackle market. Founded 33 years ago, the company has built its reputation through the development and manufacturing of bait, groundbait and fishing accessories tailored to the needs of anglers across the region. Its extensive market knowledge, manufacturing expertise and strong distribution network have helped establish a loyal customer base and a leading position in numerous markets.

In recent years, the company has become a familiar presence at international trade exhibitions, where its self-manufactured bait and groundbait products have regularly attracted industry recognition. Historically, many of Energofish’s award-winning innovations have emerged from these categories, reflecting decades of accumulated expertise in fish attraction technologies, ingredients and production methods.

At EFTTEX 2026, however, the company showcased a significantly broader product portfolio. The four award-winning products demonstrated that Energofish’s innovation strategy now extends across multiple tackle sectors, offering B2B partners the opportunity to complement their established bait orders with a growing range of competitive, high-quality products from a single supplier.

The Carp Expert Lumina Floating Sunglasses claimed the Best New Product title in the Apparel & General category’s Sunglasses section. Designed specifically for anglers, the sunglasses combine polarised optics with a floating construction, ensuring that they remain on the water’s surface if accidentally dropped. The product addresses a common practical problem while simultaneously improving visibility beneath the water surface through glare reduction. Lightweight construction, durability and all-day comfort make the Lumina a product that combines functionality with user-focused innovation.

In the Carp, Feeder & Coarse category, the Carp Expert Max2 Long Cast 8000 Reel earned recognition in the Reel segment. Developed for long-distance carp and feeder fishing, the reel incorporates features typically demanded by modern specimen anglers, including a large-capacity long-cast spool, dual line clips for precision distance fishing and a quick-drag system. The award reflects Energofish’s increasing ability to compete successfully in hard tackle categories, demonstrating that its expertise now extends beyond consumable products and into technically demanding equipment sectors.

Another award arrived in the Spinning & Baitcasting category, where the Wizard Strike + Runex Spoon captured the Metal Lure title. The lure represents an interesting example of international product development. By combining premium American components, including a highly visible neon-coloured Mustad KVD treble hook, with European assembly and manufacturing expertise, Energofish created a product that leverages both global sourcing opportunities and local production strengths. The project also highlights the company’s considerable logistics capabilities, which allow it to integrate internationally sourced components into commercially competitive finished products. For distributors and retailers, this demonstrates the flexibility and efficiency of Energofish’s supply chain infrastructure.

Perhaps the most innovative of the four winners was the Carp Expert NEO Active PVA Bombs, which secured victory in the Bait category. Scheduled for commercial launch in spring 2027, the product has already generated significant industry attention as a genuinely new concept within the PVA segment. Unlike traditional compressed PVA sticks, NEO Active Bombs are produced entirely from dry pellets without binding agents, using a fully automated manufacturing process developed by Energofish. The result is a highly active feeding presentation that creates a loose and dynamic attraction zone around the hookbait. Different pellet sizes break down at varying speeds, extending the feeding response and creating a prolonged attraction effect. The product demonstrates how Energofish continues to push the boundaries of bait innovation through in-house research, development and manufacturing.

Taken together, the four awards tell a broader story about the direction of the company. While bait manufacturing remains a core strength, Energofish is increasingly positioning itself as a diversified tackle supplier capable of delivering innovation across multiple categories. For trade partners, this creates valuable opportunities to consolidate purchasing, combining proven bait and groundbait programmes with reels, accessories, lures and other complementary products sourced from a single trusted supplier.

The company’s continued investment in product development is supported by decades of manufacturing experience and an intimate understanding of angling markets across Central and Eastern Europe. Few companies possess the combination of production know-how, market knowledge and distribution reach that Energofish has accumulated during its 33-year history. This foundation has helped build strong brand recognition and customer trust throughout the region, creating a platform for further international growth.

Looking ahead, the company sees substantial opportunities beyond its traditional markets. Energofish is actively seeking to expand its presence throughout the European Union and is increasingly engaging with partners looking for reliable, innovation-driven suppliers. A particularly attractive proposition is its ability to manufacture bait and groundbait products under OEM and private-label programmes. Supported by modern production facilities and extensive formulation expertise, Energofish is well positioned to supply both existing and new partners with customised products tailored to specific market requirements.

Winning four Best New Product awards at EFTTEX 2026 is therefore more than a successful exhibition result. It is a clear demonstration of a company combining manufacturing heritage, innovation capability and commercial ambition. For Energofish, the achievement confirms its position as one of Europe’s most dynamic tackle businesses and signals that its next phase of growth may extend well beyond the markets where it has already spent more than three decades building its reputation.
