The UK’s largest omni-channel fishing tackle retailer has unveiled an initiative that aims to protect, nurture and grow the sport for generations to come.
Angling Direct, which recently reported record store and online sales for its last financial year, has launched the AD Community Fund that will include:
- Grassroots initiatives;
- Fish and fisheries protection/restoration projects;
- Wellbeing projects.
To kick start, Angling Direct is pledging at least 5% of revenue from its new AD Win competitions website to the fund. In addition, it will be supporting projects such as the Angling Trust ‘Anglers Against Pollution’ campaign and backing key partnerships with organisations like Tackling Minds, the Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme (ANLRS) and the Angling Trust’s ‘Get Fishing’.
Steven Crowe, Angling Direct CEO, said: “The AD Community Fund is about more than giving back, it’s about moving forward together and helping improve the sport we all share. Let’s protect what we love and inspire future generations to discover the joys of angling.”
