Mustad returned to the European showpiece in Budapest with a wide range of fishing gear it has developed in recent years to complement its iconic hook range.
While the revolutionary Ultra-Nor forging hook technology was the star of the show on its booth, it was three other products that captured the attention of judges at the first ever Angling International LIVE Product Showcase. Mustad’s Mihovil Vudrag (above left) is pictured with Angling International owner Rob Carter collecting one of Mustad’s awards.
GAME TIME BACKPACK
Both front and top loading backpack for supreme tackle organisation. The exterior sports a premium feeling PU water-resistant leather material. Clearly defined outside pockets offer ample space and storage options. Including four 3600-size tackle boxes, the bottom section features shelving for easy access to tackle. Additional enhancements include rod and bottle holders and bungee cording.
BAKU – LONG DISTANCE EGI
Mustad is bringing its expertise in saltwater fishing to egi techniques with patterns carefully selected for Mediterranean squid. The natural sinking speed and UV tinsel help fool clever squid into grabbing the Baku jig. To extend casting distance, the Baku has an external sliding weight system to transfer weight as it is cast. The best squid hooks have also been incorporated.
LIVETARGET SHAD
A new shad that big saltwater monsters cannot resist. Using Injected Core Technology, it combines an ultra-realistic multi-colour laminated core with an enticing translucent exoskeleton. It is ideally paired with an EWG-style or swimbait hook sized 6/0 to 12/0. The Shad is available in three distinct sizes and eight colours.
