One of Italy’s favourite brands returned to the European fishing tackle trade show stage in Budapest and immediately made its mark with two awards in the Angling International LIVE Product Showcase.
Maver took a large booth at the show to exhibit its range of fishing products which included the award-winning Smart 5K saltwater monofilament and the Evanon feeder rod.
The company’s Sales and Development Manager, Sebastiano Brunelli (main image), said: “These awards are precious. It is an honour for us and a tribute to the people working for the company. To know that some of our products have been recognised at an international trade show is very satisfying. It is important for Maver to include this information on our social media channels to share with our b2b partners and anglers.”
Brunelli added that the awards came at the end of a year that has not been easy for the trade. “There is a lot of competition around with many businesses pushing to make their mark in the EU. However, we have been happy with our range of new products and technologies developed in connection with Reglass and the importance that the brand maintains with our industry partners and anglers.
“I don’t think that 2025 will be much different in terms of sales. The economy throughout Europe is not helping and the passion for fishing is not like it used to be in some countries. With that in mind, we need to work harder to maintain our position and move forward.
“If we are able to do that in these difficult times, we will be successful when the climate changes.”
Brunelli told Angling International that Maver is confident of picking up new business in eastern Europe following the show. “As well as striking up new partnerships, it was good to meet up with current customers we have not seen for quite some time.”
Maver also announced a distribution agreement with top Hungarian tackle and bait supplier Energofish which it hopes will help it establish links with companies across eastern Europe.
“Times are changing and the Maver brand is reflecting that. In the early days our strength lay in the match fishing sector and the boom in long poles. However, we have evolved into a general fishing company with high quality products for anglers looking for affordable tackle.
“Maver has branched out into other sectors including sea and feeder with a range of strong products that include rods made in conjunction with Realis in Italy and a huge collection of line and hooks from the Katana brand.”
SMART 5K MONOFILAMENT
