Award opens up new possibilities for Dutch tackle supplier

A win in the Product Awards Showcase at the first ever Angling International LIVE European trade show has opened up new possibilities for one of the exhibitors.
Gerco Consemulder, of Netherlands-based Raven Hengelsport – a tackle supplier and owner of two retail shops – says that his company’s success in the Gift category of the awards with an ornamental carp has given it food for thought.
“It was a new product group for us outside of traditional fishing tackle and was good to see that there are possibilities in that field. It has been a surprise best seller for us and judges at the show appreciated that.”
Consemulder said that the award was one of the highlights of the show for his company. “We got some new customers and it was also good to see some old ones for the first time in years which has also resulted in new business.”
He added that Raven is looking to build on a ‘okay’ year for the company in 2024. “We are positive for the coming 12 months even though there is a lot going on in the world. It will be hard to calculate honest prices because of a combination of factors – shipping, fluctuating currency prices, delivery times and ever-changing European regulations.”
