All change at Italy’s premier trade and consumer fishing show

Share

Italy’s premier recreational fishing show has found a new home for next year and will include a greater focus on saltwater.

The Pescare Show will be held for the first time at the Rimini Expo Centre from February 7th to 9th and will also celebrate sea fishing in a bid to expand the exhibitor base at the event which will be combined with its traditional core focus on freshwater fishing.

In a release announcing the changes, the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) said: “Moving the international sport fishing, boating and outdoors exhibition to Rimini is not only a geographical change, but also a chance to further enrich the event with more brands and initiatives related to sea fishing and boating.”

New events will be featured at the pool within the Rimini Expo Centre, including casting demonstrations, and there will also be an opportunity to go sea fishing thanks to the involvement of Club Nautico Rimini (the Rimini Nautical Club).

Training will be given to allow children and those with special needs to experience fishing and boating for the first time. There will also be a collaboration with scientific and university bodies on safeguarding the environment, which has been and remains one of the main features of the Pescare Show.

Organised by the IEG in partnership with FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities) and Assonat (National Association of Docks and Marinas), the Pescare Show will also feature a calendar of conferences, in depth seminars and educational activities.

The event is being endorsed by associations and stakeholders from across Europe including Angling International, the world’s leading industry news source, the European Fly Fishing Association (EFFA), Inside Fishing and a renewal of its media partnerships with H20 magazine and Italian Fishing TV.

Alongside the casting pools inside the venue there will be:

• A giant aquarium designed for product demonstrations and presentations by fishing pro-staffers;

• The Fly Fishing Experience hosted by some of the world’s foremost fly tyers;

• The Social Media Village which offers an opportunity to meet influencers, pro-staffers and representatives of fishing tackle manufacturers;

• The Content Hub, an area for meetings and product presentations.

After the Rimini edition, the Pescare Show will move to Naples and the Mostra D’Oltremare, Italy’s largest exhibition park, in March.
