“For us, squid and cuttlefish fishing is completely natural,” says SERT’s Fishing Product Manager, Franck Rosmann.

Since it was founded, Sakura has offered specialised rods for eging (squid fishing), and for several years now, its own range of jigs, featuring highly innovative designs. This year, Sakura is launching a new series of rods, the Stingray Egi 2.0 (above), which succeed the first-generation models that achieved great success across Europe, especially with the company’s Spanish, Italian and Mediterranean distributors. The second-generation features 30T carbon blanks, which are much thinner, more technical and lighter (17% lighter on the 8ft 2in M model). “These rods are fitted with Fuji guides and a glow-in-the-dark hook keeper, and their modern design is sure to appeal,” added Rosmann. Three models are currently available for shore or boat fishing.
In response to customer demand and to complement the limited-edition, high-end “TWENTY” series (above) launched for Sakura’s 20th anniversary, an 8ft 7in MLST egi rod with a solid carbon tip is also available for anglers looking for an exceptional rod designed for technical fishing.
