EFTTEX: LuresLab founder promises ‘revolutionary’ new lures

In an industry crowded with imitation and repetition, Dinos Panayi says he has chosen a different path.
From his workshop in Cyprus, the founder of LuresLab has spent years quietly developing lure concepts driven not by trends, algorithms or influencer campaigns, but by obsession – an obsession with predator behaviour, engineering and the feeling an angler gets when a lure truly comes alive in the water.
Now, as EFTTEX 2026 approaches, Panayi is preparing to introduce his latest creations to the global tackle industry. For him, EFTTEX is more than a trade show. It is a proving ground.

There, he will unveil a new generation of LuresLab baits – designs shaped through endless testing, refinement and experimentation. Retailers, distributors and industry professionals will have the opportunity to examine the intricate finishes, unique profiles and unconventional concepts that have become the foundation of the brand.
But Panayi is not attending simply to display products. He is going to challenge the direction of the modern lure market. “The industry is struggling with repetition,” he says. “Many companies continue recycling the same ideas and presenting them as innovation. We want to create something completely different – lures that are revolutionary in both design and performance.”
That philosophy sits at the heart of LuresLab.
Unlike many modern brands, the company refuses to follow trends or rely heavily on influencer marketing. Panayi believes anglers eventually recognise authenticity for themselves. “We don’t want false influence,” he explains. “If a lure performs, anglers will discover it naturally. Performance creates trust.”
It is a bold position in a highly competitive market, but one that reflects the uncompromising nature of the brand.
Every LureLabs design begins not on paper, but in Panayi’s imagination. Ideas are developed mentally over months – sometimes years – before the first piece of balsa is carved or the first digital model appears on screen. “I never sketch,” he says. “I build directly from the vision in my mind.”

That unconventional approach has produced lures that stand apart visually and functionally. Each concept is designed to be multi-functional, versatile and effective in real fishing conditions, whether targeting freshwater predators, pelagic species or inshore gamefish.
For Panayi, innovation is not cosmetic.
“Many factories can produce lures,” he says. “But true value comes from uniqueness and innovation designed for real fishing scenarios – from balance points and swimming action to metallic finishes, natural iridescence and lifelike colour transitions. Nothing is accidental. Every curve and movement is tested repeatedly until it behaves exactly as intended.”
Yet despite the artistic craftsmanship behind the products, Panayi keeps his priorities remarkably simple.
“Two things matter most,” he says. “The lure must catch fish and it must be exciting for the angler to use.”
As the company prepares for international expansion, LuresLab is actively seeking distribution partners across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Australia and the United States. The brand is particularly interested in working with businesses that understand premium products and appreciate long-term collaboration over short-term trends.
Panayi believes the timing is right.
Global demand for boutique, design-driven tackle brands continues to grow, particularly among anglers searching for products with identity, originality and authenticity. Early interest in LuresLab has already emerged from several export markets, with broader commercial roll-out expected following EFTTEX 2026.
For potential partners, the company offers more than another lure catalogue. It offers exclusivity, direct access to the designer, limited-edition concepts, premium presentation and products that deliberately avoid mass-market conformity. “We do not mass-produce,” Panayi says. “We craft.”

That attitude may ultimately define the future of LuresLab. At a time when he believes that much of the tackle industry competes through familiarity, Panayi is betting everything on originality. His ambition is not simply to participate in the lure market – but to reshape it.
“When engineering meets performance and true innovation,” he says, “that is LuresLab.”
