Gruppo targets EFTTEX to grow its brand and OEM business

Share

EFTTEX has become a tradition for Italian line supplier Gruppo, and it remains a cornerstone in the calendar of the brand.

The company, which has been an ever-present at the event since its inception in 1982, says that it provides a valuable platform to reconnect with long-standing European partners, exchange market intelligence and keep pace with a fast-evolving industry.

Company Director Nicola Dagnino told Angling International: “It also offers the ideal stage to showcase our latest developments – both in OEM production and under the ASSO brand – while opening the door to new relationships. Our objective is clear: reinforce existing partnerships and establish new ones, underlining Gruppo’s position as a flexible, high-value supplier capable of supporting business growth.

“Innovation will be front and centre at this year’s EFTTEX, with new lines developed in Japan available for both OEM and ASSO.”

Among the highlights is a sinking hybrid monofilament created through the co-extrusion of nylon and fluorocarbon. With a density of 1.28, it delivers rapid sink rates while maintaining a supple structure for improved casting and high abrasion resistance – well suited for match and carp applications.

Also new is a fully customisable monofilament line, allowing partners to tailor colour and pattern configurations, including metered markings. This level of flexibility is particularly relevant for technical disciplines such as fly and carp fishing, where precision and visibility are key.

With more than 40 years of expertise, Gruppo will also present its complete portfolio of fishing lines, spanning fluorocarbon, nylon, PE braids and specialist products.

The ASSO brand – distributed in over 100 countries – will feature prominently alongside OEM solutions. From surfcasting, where tapered lines are a core strength, through to boat, match and carp fishing, the range is designed to meet diverse market demands.

Dagnino added that success at EFTTEX is measured on multiple fronts for Gruppo. “Maintaining strong relationships with existing partners is a given, but tangible outcomes matter too – new contacts, fresh projects and orders generated during and after the show.

“Ultimately, the benchmark is simple: converting conversations into concrete business opportunities and long-term collaborations.”

Experience, reliability and flexibility remain the pillars of Gruppo’s offer. “The company combines a broad, competitive product range with the ability to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions,” said Dagnino. “Production, largely based in Japan and India, ensures consistent quality, while flexible MOQs, in-house spooling and packaging allow for rapid adaptation to customer requirements. Backed by an Italian headquarters and a globally recognised brand, Gruppo combines European market understanding with international manufacturing strength.”

Dagnino added that despite a challenging global environment – particularly in the Middle East, which has created pressure on raw materials and logistics – Gruppo has enjoyed a positive start to the year. “We have mitigated these obstacles by securing stock in advance, helping to maintain stability and continuity for our partners.

“Despite ongoing uncertainty, we remain confident. A proactive approach and long-term perspective position the company to adapt to changing conditions – while continuing to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.”
