KastKing targets UK, France, Italy and more at EFTTEX

KastKing will arrive at EFTTEX next month with a clear objective – to accelerate its European expansion and secure new distribution partnerships across the continent.

The fast-growing US tackle manufacturer made an award-winning debut at last year’s show in Brussels and impressed visitors to its booth with its highly technical array of reels. Eric Knickerbocker, KastKing Business Director, told Angling International: “We still have many countries available and are interested in speaking to distributors or retailers across a broad proportion of Europe.”
Following its first foray into Europe, KastKing secured representation in Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Malta. At EFTTEX in Barcelona, it will be looking at territories which include the UK, France, Scandinavia, Poland, Italy, Latvia and the Czech Republic.
“Establishing partnerships in currently unserved countries would significantly extend reach into the European marketplace and maintain our momentum which is moving in the right direction,” said Knickerbocker (below, second right). “In parallel, we are targeting recognition in the New Product Awards and we have several exciting new items of gear that have potential within the European marketplace.”

Reflecting on its debut appearance in Brussels last year, Knickerbocker described the experience as ‘highly productive’. “KastKing made a strong first impression on the trade, while we also gained valuable insights into regional market preferences. Those learnings are now shaping product development, with increased emphasis on tailoring ranges to better suit European fisheries. Heading into Barcelona, the focus is on deepening that understanding and building on early momentum.”
While progress in Europe has been steady, the company acknowledges it is slightly behind its original expansion timeline. Nonetheless, it maintains that the direction of travel is positive. “Among the key challenges encountered have been logistical hurdles, particularly around inventory movement into certain territories – an issue that has influenced the pace of the roll-out,” explained Knickerbocker.
“Feedback from both trade buyers and anglers has been consistently strong. Brand awareness is growing and hands-on experience with the products often proves conclusive. Once customers engage directly with the range, the response quickly shifts towards recognition of quality and technology, followed by clear commercial interest.”
At EFTTEX, reels will take centre-stage on the KastKing stand, reflecting the brand’s core expertise. Alongside established models, visitors can expect to see a selection of new flagship launches designed to cover a wide variety of fishing applications.
