The new Sakura Dark Player lure rod range from French tackle supplier SERT has been designed for the most demanding lure anglers.
It combines cutting-edge technology and materials, optimal ergonomics, lightness, sensitivity and robustness. Intended for both freshwater and saltwater predator fishing – depending on the model – these rods will meet anglers’ expectations whatever the fishing conditions or techniques used.
Franck Rosmann, SERT Product Manager, told Angling International: During their design, I wanted to offer rods with a sleek, understated look. Far from flashy aesthetics, the Dark Player features unique anodised aluminum parts, precision-crafted with exceptional finish.
“We relied on TORAYCA carbon blanks and FUJI guide frames to equip the 12 casting and 17 spinning models that make up this range.”
A rigourous specification is at the heart of their design, with seven families developed by use and technique. Anglers will discover the following families: Light Series, Solid Tip, Vertical, Allround, Power Game, Sharpshooting and Long Range, each optimally offering both casting and spinning versions.
“The field tests we conducted during the prototype design phase allowed us to refine the actions to maximise fishing efficiency, depending on the techniques used,” said Rosmann.
Two significant examples are included for the Sharpshooting technique, which is rapidly expanding thanks to the development of ‘Live’ sonar systems, for which a specific casting rod is offered. For Finesse techniques, often practiced by shore anglers, the Solid Tip and Light Series – with two and three spinning models respectively – are perfectly adapted to small lures and the most discreet presentations.
Made from TORAYCA High Performance Graphite fibres (IM30T and HM40T), the Dark Player rods are a prime example of technology in modern rod design. These fibres, used in the most demanding fields, offer an unmatched strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring instant vibration transmission and extreme resistance to torsion. The result: powerful and precise casts, total control of your lure, and unmatched reliability, even in the toughest conditions.
The carefully selected FUJI components that equip the Dark Player rods provide the final touch of quality – think of the FUJI Alconite guides with ‘K-Frame Tangle Free’ and ‘K-R Infinite Reality’ frames.
