International brands encouraged to tap into market of two million anglers

Share

International tackle brands are being encouraged tap into a market that attracts more than two million anglers and is represented by an event which has become a heartbeat of the industry.

The Pescare Show has established itself as the global event for sportfishing in Italy and offers brands from across the world the opportunity to connect with anglers in a country that is steeped in recreational fishing history.

The organiser of the Pescare Show – the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) – is keen to improve the trade aspect of the show by adding more international brands to the 100-plus  exhibitors it attracted last year.

Valentina Fioramonti, Group Exhibition Manager Wellness and Outdoor at IEG, told Angling International: “We want to make the Pescare Show an all-inclusive event which represents all stakeholders within the recreational fishing industry. The trade is an important component.

“We want to establish our show as a place to meet international partners and buyers, providing the perfect balance between business and consumers. Our focus for 2026 is to improve dealer engagement.

“Since its relaunch following COVID and relocation to the seaport of Rimini, the Pescare Show has continued to gain prominence as an international event, giving visiting brands an authentic picture of the Italian fishing market and its evolving needs – making it the ideal place to establish a foothold in the market and present products to a new audience.

“Rimini was a strategic choice: central location, strong maritime identity and an experience beyond the exhibition halls. The expo centre’s flexible spaces and the Riviera’s event-friendly setting delivers a full experience that goes beyond the three-day schedule.”

“The Pescare Show is a truly unique fishing show and is fast establishing itself a reputation for being the voice of the fishing community in the country. At the core of the show is the philosophy of creating a vibrant, engaged community that represents all stakeholders,” explained Fioramonti.

This transformation has not only broadened the appeal of the show but also made it an essential meeting point for industry professionals, anglers and all those with a vested interest in the sport.

A commitment to education stands out as a cornerstone with courses tailored for children, young adults and women designed to foster new generations of anglers and boaters. Special attention is also paid to engaging those with special needs, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities.

A major pillar of the event is the conference area, developed in collaboration with FIPSAS (the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities). Here a series of seminars and presentations discuss the most pressing issues of the day – from political and environmental challenges to topics that include fish health and population management.

These sessions invite leading voices from across the sector to share insights, discuss policy and offer solutions. A talk show area dedicated to these in-depth discussions also represents an opportunity for companies to present new products to the angling public.

“Through education, engagement and a renewed sense of purpose, the Pescare Show stands as the beating heart of the Italian fishing and boating scene,” Fioramonti said.

Fioramonti added that, most importantly, the Pescare Show is no longer a three-day event. “As a reference point for the industry, it is a year-long platform for building connections, sharing knowledge and propelling international brands into the market, Here, influencers and anglers converge, products are launched and conversations spark innovation. It is the right place for any brand – local or global – to engage with Italy’s unique fishing and boating world.”

The Pescare Show takes place from February 13th to 15th next year at the Rimini Expo Center, Italy.
