Sapro System – one of Europe’s foremost manufacturers of footwear – has embarked on a mission to expand its business development and export markets.

The company was founded in 2004 by Italian Gianluca Barbirato out of his passion to provide the best possible footwear for his customers.
Since those early days the business with headquarters in Poland has established itself as a trusted and reliable operation with its own thriving Camminare Boots brand and an OEM operating arm which delivers top quality boots made of EVA material.
As businesses in the region increasingly look for products made within the EU, Camminare Boots is proud that it has been manufacturing its varied range of footwear products in its homeland since its inception. “It is important to us and brings so many advantages when compared to products sourced from China and other Asian countries,” Barbirato (left) told Angling International.
“Local production is key to our company’s identity – it gives us full control over quality and allows us to remain flexible in everything we do.”
Domestic production gives the business:

Following the purchase of its first injection moulding system in 2007, Camminare Boots began with an initial product line that included a popular model of recreational clogs with a heel strap alongside EVA wellingtons for general purpose use. Over time it has expanded into new segments that now include:
“We have been involved in the fishing wellington boots sector since the beginning and it has always represented an important part of our business with clients in both southern and northern Europe as well as other continents across the world,” adds Barbirato.
Camminare Boots has recently secured funding to aid its expansion plans for the future and this has enabled it to increase its presence at trade shows this year. It has already attended a gardening fair in Cologne and will be at EFTTEX in Brussels in September and a safety at work trade event in Dusseldorf in November.
“We are always looking for new customers in different countries and opportunities in other industry sectors, especially those looking to order wholesale. It is one of the planks of our medium to long-term business development plan,” says Barbirato.
Other objectives include:
“Concentrating on our Camminare Boots brand will become a focus for us,” said Barbirato. “In the past the emphasis has been on OEM, but we will be looking to promote our own products. It underlines our longevity in the marketplace and shows that we have been in the business for many years and can be trusted as a shoe manufacturer.”

Barbarito is proud of the history of Sapro System and its relationships with its customers – many of whom have been doing business with the company for many years. “We take pride in the fact that we are a trusted brand within the industry that is capable of delivering stable quality EVA footwear across a wide range of B2B sectors. We believe our customer service is second to none and we receive many positive comments from customers who appreciate that important side of our business.”
Camminare Boots uses EVA material (left) which has been crucial to its success over the years. “Our footwear is made of EVA and EVA++ material. It is an innovative material that surpasses traditional rubber or PVC footwear. EVA++ is a high-quality polyurethane specifically developed in the laboratory of a leading polyurethane manufacturer. With exceptional strength and durability, it ensures foot protection in any demanding environment.
“Not a lot of users of footwear appreciate the difference it makes,” explains Barbarito. “EVA is ultra-light compared to wellington boots made of rubber or PVC which are far heavier and therefore more tiring on the feet.
“When we take samples to shows across Europe it is incredible the number of people who comment on how they weigh almost nothing. It is the first thing they mention.”

The company has export coverage across most of Europe, but still feels that are opportunities for growth within the region for new business. “We believe there is still potential in the bigger countries like Germany and France to add to our distribution network and we will be looking to fill those.
“We also have customers in Canada and Japan and will be looking add to our presence globally.”
