The buzz starts low, like a trolling motor just beneath the surface.
It rises with the Florida heat, rolls off the pavement on International Drive and swirls along the palm-lined footpaths of Orlando’s sprawling Orange County Convention Center.
Come mid-July, the beating heart of the sportfishing world pounds right here in central Florida. And the city Mickey Mouse built transforms into a town with a different attitude – a town that revolves around fishing.
ICAST 2025 is coming, and if your flight is not booked, your window is closing fast.

Thousands of manufacturers, media members and tackle dealers. Eight football pitches full of fishing gear. This is the big one.
Hosted annually by the American Sportfishing Association, ICAST is where the old guard and the young guns collide. It’s where product designers, professional anglers, tackle shop owners and media storytellers all converge to cut through the clutter of Zoom calls and emails and meet face-to-face to talk shop.
“When it comes to growing your business and staying competitive, your network is everything,” says ASA VP, Member Services and Business Development Kendra Allman. “There’s no better place to expand your network than ICAST.
“At the end of the day we buy from people we know, like and trust. And face-to-face meetings at trade shows create a space where those relationships can grow faster and deeper than through weeks of digital back-and-forth. There’s power in being present – and that presence can be the difference between a contact and a partnership.”
In just a few weeks, ICAST 2025 kicks off with golf swings and fishing reels – sometimes both at once. Tackle dealers pair up with manufacturers for the Lunkers and Bunkers charity scramble on Monday (July 14th). A day later, pros from Major League Fishing grab rods and reputations for the ICAST Cup. And attendees are welcomed to ICAST On the Water Demo Day, where dealers can paddle, cast and test the latest gear from a pop-up fishing village on the shores of a reed-lined pond.
All that happens before the show floor even opens on July 16th, before a keynote address from philanthropist Damon West at the State of the Industry Breakfast. At 9am, an estimated 14,000 attendees will funnel down escalators and into the fishing industry’s biggest arena.
Inside the belly of the beast, it’s a full-throttle sensory overload – neon lures, precision reels and tech that would have seemed like science fiction five years ago. It’s a week that pays for itself all year. Deals are inked, friendships forged and happy hours spill into long dinners and longer conversations about the future of fishing.
One week that pays for itself all year
ICAST is specifically designed to help tackle dealers become better business owners. Seminars, networking sessions and social hours are all tailored to bring manufacturers, conservationists and tackle stores together. And the conversations here can be worth more than any ad buy. CEOs, reps and creative powerhouses are at every event, waiting for a hello and a handshake.
“In a world that’s increasingly digital, the energy and authenticity of face-to-face interaction has never been more valuable or more rare,” says Allman. “That’s what makes trade shows so powerful. They offer something you simply can’t replicate over a screen. They give you real human connection. At ICAST, every conversation is a chance to grow.”
On the show floor, daily Lunch & Learn seminars deliver complimentary, focused sessions with practical knowledge that can translate directly to margins. Experts are on deck this year to teach dealers about artificial intelligence, purchase order planning and untangling the ever-changing web of international tariffs.

At the New Product Showcase, new legends are born. A ‘Best in Show’ nod can flip a prototype into a household name and dozens of Best of Category winners earn recognition that ultimately spills out onto store shelves. At ICAST, hundreds of these brand new products are gathered in one place, just waiting for the right dealer to stroll by.
Direct flights. Zero excuses
Orlando’s easy. Direct flights from destinations like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Lima, Sao Paolo and Dubai provide easy access from most continents. And connections to Tokyo, Sydney and Hong Kong abound. From Orlando International Airport, you are 20 minutes from the convention and hotels after touchdown.
“Business, as in life, is not just what you know, it’s who you know,” Allman says. “So, take the time to show up, step out of your comfort zone and be present in those moments. You never know where a casual chat might lead.”
ICAST 2025 runs from July 15th to 18th. Registration is open now at ICASTFishing.org. This is your shot. Grab it before it disappears like a school of tarpon on a rising tide.
