Multi-brand US company Acme Tackle has added to its portfolio with the acquisition of Moonshine Lures.
Based in Perkins, Michigan, Moonshine is the manufacturer of Super Glow products including spoons, flies, dodgers and the Shiver Minnow.
Owners Tom and Beth Gudwer and their staff will remain with Acme post-acquisition.
“We have been admirers and users of Moonshine’s lures for many years and couldn’t be happier about adding them to our growing family of brands,” said Robin Hancock, President of Acme Tackle Company.
“Acme is eager to build on Moonshine’s legacy and will strive to maintain its strong reputation with salmon, trout, walleye and striper anglers, while growing the brand through new product development and expanding its sales channels.”
Tom Gudwer said he saw Acme as the perfect fit for Moonshine. “We decided to sell so we can have more time for family, church and fishing. I am delighted the brand will be supported by a company that is as dedicated to quality as I am and has the resources to take the business to new heights.”
Acme’s parent company, Hard and Soft Fishing, dates back 101 years to when its first brand, Uncle Josh, began manufacturing in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Today its bait and tackle brands include Kalin’s, Beaver Dam, Reef Runner, Atom and Bead.
