WATCH! Sakura identifies its top baits for the European season ahead

The world of Sakura revolves around artificial lure fishing, both in saltwater and freshwater. Its scope covers European waters as well as those of exotic destinations. Sakura is recognised for the quality of its rods and lures. Since its creation, generations of Trinis, Shükan and Antidote rods have made history, as have Mister Joe, Notobug, Cajun Spinnerbait and Cajun Bladed jigs and lures. Its Mitsio saltwater rods and Orion jigs have enjoyed legendary status for more than two decades.

With the season underway across Europe, Sakura’s team has highlighted four top baits that anglers should have in their tackle boxes.

BAFFEUR JERK
This famous jerkbait has proved itself throughout Europe and ranks as one of the best pike lures in the Sakura range. Made from reinforced ABS and featuring a full-wire frame, it is very robust. The BAFFEUR JERK stands out from competing models with its unique sound that is irresistible. Sakura Product Manager Tanguy Marlin developed it to be used by all anglers, whether beginners or experts, thanks to its very simple operation.

CRANKIT SERIES
Developed this year, this range of crankbaits is already in high demand. So what sets them apart from other crankbaits? Product Manager Franck Rosmann explains: “The design specifications were strict. We wanted to develop a silent lure capable of being cast over long distances. This is what we have achieved with the CRANKIT range.”

The range consists of three models: CRANKIT+1, which dives to one metre, CRANKIT+2 (dives up to 2m) and CRANKIT+3 (dives up to 3m). It’s an ideal lure for ‘power fishing’ and successfully exploring overfished areas… silently.

COVER BLADED JIG
A true revolution in the world of bladed jigs. “It is the result of our design based on our famous CAJUN BLADED JIG. We have adapted it so that its vibrations are lively and rapid, allowing it to pass through obstacles – weeds and deadwood – without snagging,” says Rosmann. “Its secret is a tapered blade and a protective brush for the hook made of titanium filaments. It’s one of the lures that we most recommend to our customers who want to offer anglers a truly unique lure.”

BIGPIKE SHAD
Sakura’s BIGPIKE SHAD is a soft swimbait designed for anglers targeting pike in shallow areas. Rosmann said: “We have used a floating polymer that facilitates this search. If needed, it is easy to add a belly weight, such as our CLIP POIRE, for fishing at depth.”
