Italian line OEM proud of its China Fish pioneering history

Italian line OEM Gruppo takes great pride in the fact that it was the first-ever western business to recognise the business potential of China Fish and take a booth at the event.

That was back in 1995 and the company has successfully been there ever since. Nicola Dagnino, Gruppo Director, told Angling International: “It ranks alongside ICAST in the US and the CGC Weihai Expo as the most important show that we attend and remains a very important meeting point for the trade.

“Gruppo stands by the motto ‘European management and Asian technology’ which means we are the perfect blend between the advantages of both markets. We manufacture in Asia, but our mentality and business model is European. Furthermore, we are fishing experts and we make products which are specific to each fishing technique and region across the world.”

At this year’s show Gruppo will be presenting a new collection of sinking lines, hybrid nylon/fluorocarbon monofilaments and PE and PFTE braids alongside a wide range of bulk lines for spoolers and OEM projects. In addition, its own ASSO brand will be highlighting products in nylon, fluorocarbon and PE.

Gruppo has just come off a positive year, reporting a 10% increase in turnover, driven by an increased demand for fluorocarbon. Dagnino added: “We are optimistic regarding 2025 because our wide range of products offer interesting solutions even when the market is not particularly buoyant.”
