Italian icon proves it has new pulling power

Iconic brand Maver celebrated its return to the European trade show scene by taking two awards in the Angling International LIVE Product Showcase.

The Paioli Sports brand enjoyed success in the Carp & Feeder category for its Evanon feeder rod and the Smart 5K in the saltwater monofilament category. It is confident of recruiting new distribution partners in Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine and Serbia following positive talks in the early stages of the show according to Sebastiano Brunelli, its Sales and Development Manager.
“As well as picking up new business, it was good to meet up with current partners who we have not seen for quite a time,” said Brunelli, who announced a distribution agreement with top Hungarian tackle and bait supplier Energofish.

“We are looking to reach more distributors in Europe where we are not currently present, including France and Greece. Eastern Europe is also on our wish list, particularly Poland, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.”
Brunelli added: “Maver is a very well known brand with a long history in the tackle industry. However, times are changing and the brand is reflecting that. In the early days our strength lay in the match fishing sector and the boom in fishing long poles.
“However, we have evolved into a general fishing company with high quality products for anglers looking for affordable tackle.”
Maver has branched out into many other sectors including the sea and feeder fishing sectors with a range of strong products that include rods made in conjunction with Realis in Italy and what Brunelli describes as a huge collection of line and super hooks from the Katana brand.
