Brooks boosts Fairpoint UK and Ireland growth plans

Share

Scandinavian tackle company Fairpoint Outdoors, owner of the Westin and Kinetic brands, has continued its aggressive expansion strategy with the appointment of a southern sales manager in the UK.

Geoff Brooks has worked in both retail and trade sales over the past 20 years, spending time at Pure Fishing, Dennett Outdoor and Tronixpro. He joins a sales team led by Richard Taylor in England, Scotland and Wales and Gareth Whittington in Ireland.

“Geoff’s experience and connections should allow him to hit the ground running, which is exactly what we are looking for,” said Taylor. “We have seen superb growth in the UK since launching our new bespoke UK business system in 2023 and Geoff is a key part of our projected growth plans.”

Brooks will focus on both Westin and Kinetic. “I see huge potential for Kinetic, especially in the coastal stores in my territory,” he said. “It is a no-nonsense brand, with superb margin for the retailer and backed by Scandinavian quality.”

Fairpoint CEO Thomas Petersen confirmed that his company has identified the UK and Ireland as key areas for growth. “Brexit made for tricky times in the last few years, but we have invested heavily in bespoke systems to get over these hurdles and our acquisition of Geoff Brooks is testament to the progress we have made.

“Coupled with our new product categories like reels, braid and a terminal tackle range, we are going from strength to strength.”
