Foundation Outdoor Group continues European expansion

Foundation Outdoor Group, which recently opened offices in Sweden, has appointed a Head of Sales and Distribution in southern Europe as the next step in its European expansion strategy.

The rod building components company says that Rafael ‘Rafa’ Llaneras, who will be based on the island of Majorca, is a “tremendous addition”  to the business.

“He is an industry veteran already well versed in our product line,” said Gary Penney, VP of Operations in Europe. “He is also an avid angler who knows the species and waters across the continent.”

Llaneras has for 10 years been an ambassador for American Tackle, which was acquired by Foundation Outdoor last year, winning many big game tournaments including the Spanish Tuna Trolling Championship. Spain, Portugal and Italy will be among the countries under his control.

“Growing our presence in Southern Europe is a key component of our larger expansion strategy,” said Foundation’s President and CEO Brook Oliva. “I’m sure Rafa will make an immediate impact.”
