Chinese exhibitor welcomes change of date for show

Share

One of China’s leading OEM rod suppliers has welcomed the earlier date for this year’s premier European trade show.

Weihai Hanhigh, which describes the European market as one of its biggest, says the switch of Angling International LIVE from September to the more traditional June date for a European trade event is a ‘really good change.’ Company owner Qian Gang Wang told Angling International: “For us there are some really important shows that we need to attend in September/October so it was hard for us to make a satisfactory decision.”

Despite the European market suffering a hard time in recent years – exacerbated by the long-running war in Ukraine and high interests rates across the region – Wang believes that the situation has bottomed out and a slow recovery is on its way.

“Following the last Angling International LIVE late last year, we still believe that we have found new contacts to do business with. It takes a little time after a show to follow up on enquires, but we are confident. Those who saw our European models believe that they suitable for the region.”

Wang says that he is cautiously optimistic for 2025 after what he described as the company’s toughest year for two decades. “I am expecting a challenging year with the market in a low state with businesses facing increasing competition. Our only option is to face it bravely and strive to improve what we do and offer quality and service at a competitive cost.

“In such a difficult situation, customers are looking for best value products.”
