Award-winning team at Italian line OEM target global expansion

This year has represented a period of transformation, investment and international market development for Italian OEM line producer Plastools.
Alongside continuing to work with established fishing tackle brands, the award-winning business has targeted expanding its international commercial activities in 2026 and improving production technology, quality management and its manufacturing facilities.
“One of the biggest challenges has been operating in a highly competitive global market where purchasing decisions are frequently driven by price,” explained Moira Dal Pozzo, CEO at the company. “However, I believe strongly that price should never be the only consideration when choosing a manufacturing partner. Production consistency, expertise, flexibility, traceability, communication and reliable delivery all have real economic value.
“A fishing line that performs consistently, arrives correctly packaged and meets the specifications of the customer is essential to protecting the reputation of the brand. Our objective is not to become the cheapest manufacturer in the world, but one of the most reliable and valuable partners for the fishing industry.”

It is an ambition that Dal Pozzo believes makes Plastools a good choice for European brands looking for a credible OEM supplier. “We are a family business with roots dating back to 1969 and during that time have developed extensive experience in fishing lines. We have transformed that knowledge into a specialised manufacturing service for international brands.
“What makes us different is our ability to manage several stages of production internally – we do not simply purchase fishing lines and then resell them. We work with customers to select materials, develop technical specifications, customise colours and product characteristics, manufacture plastic spools, rewind fishing lines, print labels and prepare finished products ready for distribution.
“Our in-house label printing equipment allows us to react quickly to the requirements of customers while our spooling and packaging capabilities provide flexibility in product planning.”
Being located in the heart of Italy is another advantage for Plastools. “European brands benefit from geographical proximity, easier communication, shorter logistics and a manufacturer who is familiar with local business expectations.
“We also believe that flexibility is essential. Not every customer needs enormous quantities. We can support projects starting from relatively small batches depending on the product and configuration. Every customer deserves attention whether they are an established international brand or a growing company developing its first private label range.
“Our customers can concentrate on marketing, distribution and developing their brands, while we take care of the manufacturing process,” added Dal Pozzo.

Plastools prides itself on innovation and has enjoyed recognition at European trade shows in recent years. At EFTTEX in June it was recognised for its Super Sinking line, the winner in the Carp-Feeder and Coarse line category, and the runner-up, Zero Memory. “The awards were particularly meaningful to us because they recognised our commitment to developing innovative products that delivered genuine technical characteristics.”
Sustainability and an eye on the environment also score high on its list of priorities. “These factors are becoming increasingly important within the tackle industry. We are exploring bio-based materials, recycled plastics, alternative packaging and lead-free products while working to improve our product processes and material efficiency.”
