The Brute prepares to terrorise Europe’s predator giants

Livingston Lures – the brand that utilises the groundbreaking EBS natural baitfish sound technology – is preparing to introduce its award-winning Brute to European predator anglers in early 2027, following a successful trade show debut and an extensive field-testing programme that has already produced exceptional results in North America.
The Brute claimed first place in the soft lure category at EFTTEX 2026 in Barcelona, generating considerable attention among retailers and anglers. For Livingston Lures, however, the award represents only one measure of the product’s potential, with performance on the water remaining the primary benchmark throughout development.
Designed by professional musky angler and pike authority, Steven Paul, the Brute is the result of years of refinement and testing in some of North America’s most demanding predator fisheries. ‘The Brute is a special lure. Nothing is superficial or wasted in this design,” said Paul, who has developed numerous products for Livingston Lures’ musky and pike range.
The final phase of pre-production testing took place in Canada during the summer, where the Brute produced numerous world-class muskies, alongside numerous trophy-class northern pike. According to Paul, the results demonstrated not only the lure’s ability to attract exceptionally large predators, but also the durability of its construction.
“Developing a soft plastic lure that retains the suppleness and movement required to trigger strikes, while remaining resilient enough to withstand repeated encounters with large predators, presents a significant manufacturing challenge,” explained Paul. “Livingston Lures has invested considerable resources into achieving that balance, creating a lure designed to continue producing results fish after fish.”

As a leading North American innovator in the musky and pike tackle market, Livingston is also establishing a growing presence among European predator anglers. Much of this momentum can be attributed to the increasing international exchange of fishing techniques, product information and digital media, which has steadily narrowed the traditional divide between European pike fishing and North American musky angling.
As those markets become increasingly connected, European anglers are gaining greater exposure to the specialised lure designs and techniques developed for targeting North America’s largest freshwater predators. Livingston believes this crossover presents a significant opportunity for innovative products such as the Brute.

With an EFTTEX award already secured and exceptional catches validating its performance, Livingston plans to release the Brute in limited quantities throughout Europe during the first quarter of 2027. Several established retailers have already placed orders and the company is actively seeking additional retail and distribution partners to support its expansion across the European market.
Retailers and distributors interested in carrying the Brute are encouraged to contact Erick Arnoldson, Vice President of Sales at Livingston Lures, to discuss availability and partnership opportunities.
