Tackle giant Shimano has acquired all the shares in the world renowned Jackall Lures.
The company, which announced the news of the acquisition on its Japanese website yesterday, has been a partner of Jackall since 2010, handling sales, marketing and distribution of its baits and co-developing bass rods which include the Poison Series.
Announcing the news, Shimano said: “We will continue to respect the manufacturing philosophy that the company has cultivated, leverage the strengths of both organisations and work to deliver even more compelling Shimano and Jackall products for everyone.”
Jackall was founded in 1999 by the legendary lure designer, Seji Kato. Over the years it has built a stella reputation for its innovative baits which have become famous for catching fish – notably pike, zander and perch.
