Pescare strengthens its position as a European gateway

Share

The Pescare Show is strengthening its position as the gateway to Italy for the international fishing industry, with overseas attendance set to rise by more than 70% at next year’s event compared to 2025.

The show’s global network is expanding through direct recruitment by its in-house international marketing team, supported by specialist regional advisers focused on the Alpine, Adriatic and Balkan markets. The work is building stronger links with overseas trade operators, industry bodies and associations.

The show’s continued presence at the EFTTEX trade event has reinforced Pescare’s role within the wider international community, while relationships with EFTTA and the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) are extending its industry reach. In 2026, Pescare hosted the IGFA European Council for the first time, creating new opportunities to connect with fishing professionals, prominent clubs and associations across the Mediterranean.

As the show approaches, Pescare is positioning itself not simply as a national consumer event, but as an increasingly influential meeting place for the international fishing sector.

Pescare is also supported by a joint initiative with Decathlon. “Our partnership with the French retailer is particularly important for a strong connection with families and young people who are approaching the sport for the first time,” Valentina Fioramonti, Group Exhibition Manager in Wellness & Outdoor Business Unit at the Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) told Angling International. “It allows us to present fishing in a more accessible and inclusive way. It is key to Pescare and our vision for the future. We want to bring new generations into the sport and make it easier to discover.”

Partnerships with brands including Patagonia, alongside other leading companies and associations, have helped establish Pescare as a reference point for Italy’s fishing community. It also underlines the show’s commitment to environmental responsibility, sustainability and inclusion.

“Patagonia has a very strong and authentic connection with anglers and outdoor enthusiasts. Its environmental values resonate strongly with this community,” explained Fioramonti. “Our association began this year with the promotion of its Worn Wear Tour, which was a meaningful way to introduce the brand’s approach to sustainability to our visitors. Its philosophy of encouraging the repair and reuse of garments instead of replacing them encourages conscious choices about consumption.

“For Pescare, sustainability is not simply a trend, it is an essential part of the future of fishing and the outdoor world.”

Fioramonti added that the exhibition lay-out next year has been designed to strengthen the dual identity of the Pescare Show as a professional marketplace for the industry and, at the same time, an engaging experience for fishing enthusiasts and families.

“The visitor experience remains a key element of the show, with dedicated areas for demonstrations and events that are its distinctive features and which provide opportunities for the fishing community to meet, discover and share their passion.

“At the same time, the show is strongly focused on its trade vocation, with four halls dedicated to manufacturers, distributors and importers showcasing the full spectrum of sportfishing products and accessories, together with the latest solutions in electronics and recreational boating.

“A dedicated hall will also bring together fishing shops and retailers, giving visitors the opportunity to see and purchase the latest products and innovations launched by exhibiting brands at the show, creating a natural connection between manufacturers, retailers and fishing enthusiasts.

“Rimini and the Riviera have established themselves as a destination for the sector’s community, bringing together the sea, nature and outdoor activities with the area’s hospitality. The 2026 edition showed how experiences across the local area can extend the event beyond the show itself, supported by collaboration with local businesses, partners and institutions. The lay-out of the Rimini Expo Centre was also particularly well received, providing a setting suited to the event’s activities. The 2027 event will build on these strengths and further strengthen the connection between the show and its host destination.”

The Pescare Show takes place from February 12th to 14th next year at the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy.
