Shimano Australia Fishing has entered into a collaboration that has brought NASA lens technology to the brand’s latest range of premium fishing eyewear.
Marine Business News reports that the world-renowned fishing brand has partnered with Revo in a move that the sunglasses supplier describes an important milestone for the business. “In Revo’s 41-year history, few collaborations have carried the significance of this one,” Jimmy P Hendricks, Director, Revo Australia, said. “Shimano’s reputation, technical heritage and connection with anglers around the world make this an incredibly important partnership for us. We are very proud to bring Revo’s lens expertise in eyewear developed specifically for the fishing market.”

Shimano Australia Managing Director, Chad Rodgers, said that entering the premium eyewear market meant finding a partner capable of meeting the same expectations placed on the group’s fishing tackle.
“We take the Shimano name and what it represents to anglers very seriously. When we put that name on a product, we want to be confident in the quality, performance and value it brings to someone on the water. Revo has an extraordinary history in lens technology and shares our focus on continual refinement and technical performance. Bringing its optical expertise together with our understanding of Australian anglers made this partnership a natural fit.
“Australian anglers know their gear and they’re not afraid to put it through its paces. We wanted to create something that would stand alongside the rods, reels and tackle carrying the Shimano name and feel like it belonged there.

“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created with Revo and equally excited about where this partnership can go from here.”
