Abramis seeking new sales team for Hungarian market

Share

Polish tackle supplier Abramis is changing its approach to the Hungarian fishing tackle market, opening a new chapter in its continued European expansion.

The move, which will see two sales positions created, will allow Hungarian tackle shops to buy directly from Abramis rather than through a local distributor, giving retailers access to the company’s full product portfolio, direct commercial support and a closer relationship with the business behind the Mikado and Bait Now brands.

“Hungary has been identified as a key growth opportunity due to its deeply rooted angling culture, extensive waters and strong participation across virtually every major fishing discipline. It is also a market that aligns closely with the broad multi-category offer of Abramis,” the company’s Jan Kolousek told Angling International.

“Method feeder, feeder, carp, spinning, predator, catfish, match, float and coarse fishing all have strong followings in Hungary – creating a natural fit for Mikado’s extensive tackle range and Bait Now’s method feeder-focused bait proposition.”

Kolousek believes the combination will give Hungarian retailers a competitive, wide-ranging offer from a single supplier, spanning multiple techniques and price points.

“Abramis has been growing year after year, strengthening its presence across European fishing markets,” Kolousek added. “Hungary is an especially attractive market because it has knowledgeable anglers, a strong retail base and demand across a very wide range of fishing styles.”

The new direct model is intended to offer more than simply improved product availability. Retail partners will receive direct access to the brands’ complete ranges, professional sales support, marketing and product assistance, early access to new developments and direct communication with the Abramis team.

Kolousek said Abramis wants to build long-term partnerships with Hungarian shops, helping them select and develop the right ranges for their local customers rather than treating the relationship as a standard supply arrangement.

To support the launch, Abramis is assembling a dedicated Hungarian team. The business is currently recruiting for two key positions in Hungary – a country manager and a sales representative.

Added Kolousek: “The vacancies offer an opportunity for experienced tackle industry professionals with strong retailer relationships and an understanding of the Hungarian market. Abramis is looking for people who can help establish and grow the operation from the ground up, develop the Mikado and Bait Now brands locally and build lasting relationships with retailers and anglers.”

The Hungarian launch forms part of a wider ambition to make the Abramis brands increasingly accessible to European retailers and consumers. With a growing product offering, competitive market positioning and experience across modern fishing techniques, the company sees direct entry into Hungary as an important next step.
