Mustad, the world’s leading manufacturer of fishing hooks, will be showing off its latest hook point technology at this week’s ICAST.
The iconic Norwegian brand will be debuting the DeltaPoint – a precision-forged, triangular point structure engineered for knife-edge penetration – at the world’s largest fishing tackle trade show, which opens its doors to visitors to Orlando, Florida, on Wednesday.
The hook features an integrated rib that runs from barb to point, reinforcing strength without adding weight. Mustad says the result is faster hooksets, superior durability and a lighter build – sharp, strong and consistent every time.
The technology makes its debut on the Mustad 7691S Swordfish Hook, which pairs DeltaPoint with a fully welded eye for maximum strength under the heavy, sustained loads of offshore swordfishing, tuna trolling, highspeed wahoo trolling and much more. Together, the point geometry and welded-eye construction are designed to hold up through the hookset, the fight and the boatside battle that follows.
