Award-winner: An enlarged EFTTEX will bring ‘greater opportunities’

Share

One of the most successful award-winners on the European trade show circuit in recent years has backed EFTTEX but outlined improvements that could make it stronger in the future.

Italian OEM line supplier Plastools has become a serial winner since the show reopened following COVID, first under the Angling International LIVE banner and then as a returning EFTTEX last year. Plastools continued that winning streak last month with another two awards.

Moira Dal Pozzo (main image, second right), the Product Manager and boss of Plastools, told Angling International: “EFTTEX remains one of the most important events on the European tackle trade calendar, offering a unique platform for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, media and industry leaders to meet face-to-face, build relationships and discuss future opportunities. However, expanding its international reach would benefit everyone: the stronger and more global the event becomes, the greater the opportunities for exhibitors, visitors and the wider industry.”

Dal Pozzo also believes attracting more first-time exhibitors and new businesses should remain a priority. “Expanding the diversity of companies represented at the show would help generate fresh ideas, create new partnerships and ensure EFTTEX remains the industry’s leading innovation showcase.

She added that recognition for Plastools from industry peers in the New Product Awards carries particular value and reinforces its commitment to research, development and innovation.

The company was pleased to receive an award for its new Super Sinking Line, describing the product as a significant performance advancement that required months of development work.

Looking ahead, Plastools remains optimistic about both the fishing tackle market and the future of EFTTEX. It has already confirmed it will attend the 2027 show in Prague and hopes to see further growth in visitor numbers, exhibitor diversity and international participation.

Its view is simple: a larger, more internationally representative EFTTEX will create greater opportunities for business, innovation and collaboration across the global fishing tackle industry.

Dal Pozzo added that Plastools has just come off a ‘challenging’ but successful year for the business. “We have invested heavily in product development and innovation, while continuing to support our customers with high quality OEM solutions. The results we achieved at EFTTEX demonstrate that these efforts are paying off.

“Like many companies, we have faced market uncertainty, increasing competition and rising operational costs. Our response has been simple – focus on innovation, stay close to our customers and continue to invest in quality and service.

“Difficult periods often create opportunities for companies willing to adapt and move forward.”

Dal Pozzo added: “I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible – events like EFTTEX are much more than a trade show. They are a platform that helps to strengthen and unite our industry.

“As an exhibitor, award winner and proud supporter of the European fishing tackle industry, I believe the European Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA) plays an essential role in representing our sector, encouraging innovation and helping companies in the region remain competitive globally.

“The message from EFTTEX is clear – when the industry works together, everyone wins.”
