In July, Strike made its official debut at the world’s largest sportfishing trade show, ICAST, held at Florida’s Orange County Convention Center.
More than 12,000 anglers experienced the launch of a new benchmark in performance-driven, purpose-led footwear designed specifically for life on deck, in water and beyond.
As the official footwear partner of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), Strike blends shoemaking expertise with angling heritage, delivering innovation that supports both the demands of the sport and the future of our oceans.

Here are the most common questions that were asked at launch:
Strike was founded by two lifelong friends: a British shoemaker with decades of craftsmanship expertise and an Italian big-game fisherman who has spent a lifetime at sea. After too many deck slips, back injuries, and lost personal bests, they recognised that no footwear brand was truly meeting the demands of serious anglers. Their solution was Strike: a brand built by anglers, for anglers, combining shoemaking heritage with performance innovation.

Strike footwear may begin in the design studio but it was perfected on the water. Every pair is tested on decks, in salt spray and under the conditions anglers face daily. With input from the angling community and beyond, each product undergoes trials and repeated refinements until it meets Strike’s standard of functional superiority: stability, grip and comfort you can trust.

HOW DID STRIKE AND IGFA BECOME PARTNERS?
Both founders have long-standing connections to IGFA. When they introduced Strike to the community, it quickly became clear that the partnership was a natural fit. Strike’s purpose extends beyond footwear; it is committed to safeguarding the waters that make fishing possible. Today, as the official footwear of the IGFA, Strike contributes to the organisation from every pair sold, supporting education, awareness and conservation initiatives worldwide.

WHAT DO THE HOLES IN THE SOLES DO?
Water on deck is inevitable. Instead of resisting it, the Strike team designed technology to work with it. Strike’s Aqua Sluice Gill System channels water away from the footbed, keeping shoes lighter, more comfortable and more stable. The result: enhanced traction, even in the wettest conditions.
WHAT FABRICS AND MATERIALS ARE USED?
Every material decision made ‘reflects Strike’s responsibility to the waters we love.’ Strike incorporates a spectrum of performance-driven, sustainability-minded innovations:
● Solum™ Outsoles derived from plant waste for traction and endurance.
● SEAQUAL® Yarn, made from recycled marine plastic and post-consumer PET, for fast-drying comfort and durability.
● Natural rubber compounds chosen for resilience and long product life.
Thegoal is clear: reduce environmental impact without compromising performance.
WILL THE SOLES LEAVE MARKS ON THE DECK?
No. Strike footwear is designed with non-marking outsoles, ensuring decks stay clean and professional while grip remains uncompromised.

HOW RESILIENT ARE STRIKE SHOES TO SALTWATER?
Saltwater is one of the harshest environments any product can face, but Strike was designed for it. Every material is selected for longevity under saline conditions and tested through extensive saltwater exposure.
‘Our designs are inspired by the ocean itself,’ says Strike. The collection features shades of turquoise, blue, black and white. Colourways that reflect both the natural environment and the tradition of clean, functional footwear on deck.
CAN I WEAR STRIKE SHOES FOR FRESHWATER FISHING TOO?
Absolutely. While Strike footwear is purpose-built for saltwater conditions, the stability, traction and comfort it delivers are equally valuable in freshwater environments.
