The business of one of the industry’s largest carp bait suppliers is set to be taken to the next level following a new distribution deal.
Fox International – owned by Rather Outdoors and Europe’s largest supplier of carp tackle – will take over the sales of products made by CC Moore, including its boilies and hookbaits, throughout mainland Europe. The distribution will be managed from its two state-of-the-art facilities in Belgium from September 1st this year.
The deal, which does not include the UK, has the potential to transform the CC Moore business, according to Rather Outdoors Group Marketing Director Lewis Porter. He told Angling International: “We are looking to forge long-term success with CC Moore through this agreement. There is huge potential for us to elevate the brand to the next level.”
CC Moore products will continue to be available for EU stockists to order from its current distributor Nash Tackle Sp. Z.o.o. until the end of August. Following the takeover of distribution by Fox, a comprehensive range of CC Moore products will be readily available.
Porter added: “This agreement gives our 30 account managers across mainland Europe another avenue of sales. Bait orders have to be updated on a regular basis, meaning retailers will have more contact with our sales people. This opens up the opportunity to sell more tackle.”
Porter added that Fox had previously discussed a distribution deal prior to Brexit, but its business was not geared up for bait. “Our expertise was in tackle,” he explained. “It was only when the business acquired Sonubaits that we learnt how to distribute baits.”
The agreement with CC Moore is Fox International’s first outside its business. Said Porter: “We are not actively looking at taking on other brands, but if it made sense and fitted within our business ethos we would obviously consider it. Since coming in as President, Gary Quinn has shown that he is keen to get more volume running through the two warehouses.”
Quinn (left) said: “Fox and CC Moore have long had a synergy, with many of our sponsored anglers in Europe already being backed by CC Moore for their bait needs.
“For those shops wanting to know more about what any future ranges or pricing structures will look like, the team at Fox is currently working on a brand new CC Moore pricelist that will be available for when our distribution partnership begins in September.”
CC Moore Director and co-owner Ian Moore added: “On behalf of my co-owner, Colin, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Nash Tackle for its partnership over the last two years and wish it well for the future. We would also like to most sincerely thank those shops in the EU which have continued to stock CC Moore products during a period of low stock availability this spring and summer.
“We are looking ahead to our new partnership with Fox International and will have our machines working overtime to ensure that the Fox warehouses in Belgium will be carrying good stocks of the CC Moore EU range.
