Show marks new chapter for Serbian fly brand

The European trade show in Brussels will mark a new chapter in the journey of Serbian-based Vania Flies as it unveils an exclusive line of products dedicated to ultralight fishing.

The company says that the new arrivals reflect its commitment to innovation and its readiness to embrace new opportunities in the angling community. Owner Vanja Stojanovic told Angling International: “In recent years a fascinating trend has emerged in the form of our flies being used for ultralight fishing.

“This development underscores the versatility and adaptability of their designs. Jig nymphs, a particular style of fly, have gained popularity among ultralight anglers and prompted us to explore and refine our offering for this niche.

“After rigorous testing and modifications, we are proud to be showing off a range of products for this type of sport.”

Vania Flies was formed in the 1990s, producing locally built flies that suited the market. Stojanovic said: “Serbian rivers were full of small fish that drowned our flies, so from the beginning we developed our original programme of Dry Flies that are made of high floating materials decorated in a very realistic way.

“These products captured the attention of the market and are now appreciated across the world.” Vania has since added all other types of flies, fly tying materials and quality Furled Leaders to its portfolio.

Stojanovic added that he is looking forward to attending the European showpiece in Brussels in September and meeting customers old and new.

Vania’s main export markets include Japan, USA and Europe. It is looking for wholesale partners or retailers in smaller markets. Adds Stojanovic: “We offer original, unique and quality products at very reasonable prices that cannot be purchased elsewhere. We have a lot of new products in the pipeline, but are currently mass testing these. Only what is 100% proven to be the best will be on show and go into production for the 2026 season.”
