‘Crazy’ crowds flock to home brands at Osaka show

Share

Home brands pulled in the crowds at the Osaka Fishing Show, which finished today.

Angling International Managing Director, Rob Carter, was at the show and reported ‘crazy’ crowds during the two-day event with home brands Daiwa and Shimano proving to be among the stand-out attractions.

“It was Daiwa as far as the eye could see,” said Carter. “Its booth was so big that it needed its own map. What a way to make a statement in your domestic market! The crowds also flocked to the Shimano booth which was absolutely jam-packed throughout the two day event.”

Spotted on the show floor was that most American of brands, AFTCO. Its classic apparel has been brought to Japan by partners Sunline and appeared at the show for the first time.

“By my reckoning AFTCO was the only US brand with its own booth at the show,” said Carter. “Sunline’s senior associate in the international sales team told me that the Japanese consumers love US brands.

“It also proves once again that shows are ideal for breaking into new markets. There is no better way to grab attention and make the new connections you need to get started.”

“If you are seeking a similar impact to AFTCO, but in Europer, drop me a line and let me put your brand in front of customers at Angling International LIVE.”
