Fishing tackle show season gets underway this weekend

The 2025 fishing tackle show season kicks off this weekend with three blockbusters in Europe and Japan.

Carrefour National Peche & Loisirs (Clermont Ferrand) – the traditional curtain raiser to the show season – opens its doors in France tomorrow (Friday) , alongside one of Japan’s two major national events, the Japan Fishing Festival in Yokohama. Both run through to Sunday and are expected to attract thousands of visitors over the three days.

On Saturday, arguably the largest carp fishing show in Europe, Carp den Bosch – formerly Carp Zwolle – takes centre stage and features a star-studded line-up from the sport including Fox, Nikl, Pro Line, Shimano, Sonik, Trakker, Vagner and Ockert (below).

The German exhibitor will be showing off products from its three brands SPORTEX, Kryston and Climax, while UK exhibitor Trakker will be unveiling its new Propel rod range alongside the market-leading Trakker RS Shelters. There will also be a sneak preview of what anglers can expect later in the season.

One product that is set to stand out from the crowd on the show floor is the Hammer 590 C (main picture) aluminium fishing boat from Barkmet Boats of the Czech Republic. This versatile craft offers a spacious deck that comfortably accommodate four passengers, providing ample space for fishing gear and family use.

A newcomer to the show is Fencl, also of the Czech Republic – a brand that has been in the fishing tackle trade for over 25 years. It will be making its debut with its flagship product – the Carp Premium landing net – taking centre stage. The company says it is designed for the modern angler who values quality, functionality and fish-friendly features.
