Pallatrax MD: ‘This is a must-attend show for growing companies’

For angling brands aiming to grow their market presence, Angling International LIVE has emerged as a top venue for making valuable connections with high-quality customers.

So says Simon Pomeroy, MD of eco-conscious brand Pallatrax and winner of two awards in the Product Showcase at the show in September.

Pomeroy left the Budapest event convinced of its unique value as a hub for new business leads and strategic partnerships. He told Angling International: “We saw high quality visitors who were on serious missions to find new and sellable products.” Impressed by the quality of contacts he made, Pomeroy has already committed to exhibiting at the next Angling International LIVE in 2025.

One of Pomeroy’s main goals in Budapest was to arrange strategic meetings to support Pallatrax’s expansion across Europe. The show provided an ideal setting for both pre-arranged discussions and walk-ups with companies that aligned with Pallatrax’s vision. “It can be a challenge to harness the international interest we receive, but Angling International LIVE gave us a chance to set up meetings in advance and connect in person,” he noted, before adding that certain meetings were so successful that announcements about new partnerships and projects are very likely in the coming months.

The Budapest event also presented Pomeroy with a crucial opportunity: to connect with manufacturers in fields where Pallatrax does not have in-house capabilities, such as electronics. Angling International LIVE offered a rich selection of reliable suppliers with proven track records, enabling Pallatrax to explore expanding its product range without compromising on quality. “As a genuine manufacturer, it’s essential to work with partners who have the same standards we hold,” Simon said. “I met companies at the show that fit perfectly, which can help take Pallatrax to the next level.”

Beyond strategic networking, Angling International LIVE proved invaluable for showcasing Pallatrax’s unique product lines to an audience eager for innovation. “In a market where new ideas are sometimes stifled, having the space to demonstrate our products and explain our ethos was fantastic,” Pomeroy observed.

Products like Pallatrax’s Gripz hooks and natural Stonze fishing weights drew significant attention, with the Gripz hooks in particular sparking conversations about their angling and environmental benefits over traditional hook designs. Visitors appreciated Pallatrax’s focus on eco-friendly alternatives, added Pomeroy, and the show allowed for in-depth discussions that resonated with high-impact buyers.

“The response to the Gripz hooks and Stonze weights was phenomenal,” said Pomeroy. “When people saw the benefits up close, it was as if the light bulbs went off. They realised these were genuine products with real angling benefits and environmental considerations that matter to today’s anglers.”
