Historic US brand returns to European show with product line-up

One of the world’s oldest fly fishing line brands is returning to the European trade show as it continues to establish a presence in the region.

Cortland Line Company was founded in 1915 and has proudly been manufacturing fly lines from its headquarters in Cortland, NewYork. At Angling International LIVE it will be giving a European debut to three lines which are in contention for honours in the Product Showcase.

Designed for accurate presentations on small streams and spring creeks, it is built true to line weight with a front taper design that helps to load rods up close. It also features a supple braid core that remains memory-free when stored on small arbor reels. A mute olive-coloured head eliminates line flash and allows for a stealthy approach in gin-clear water.

C12 Hollow Core Braid

Designed for serious offshore fishermen who require premium hollow core backing at an affordable price, C12 is braided at Cortland’s New York manufacturing facility from 12 individual gel-spun polyethylene fibres. It is the easiest splicing, longest lasting, 12 strand hollow core option on the market. C12 was designed to minimise diameter for maximum capacity, while exceeding competitors’ breaking strength across the board.

It features proprietary FibreTech super braid protection, a unique treatment  – not a coating – which penetrates the weave and bonds with the individual gel-spun fibres to stiffen and improve the handling characteristics of the line. Technology provides the longest lasting colour, which resists fading and bleeding out. The C12 is braided with Cortland’s spliceable hollow core construction for fast and reliable splicing of end-loops for wind-on leaders or direct splices for top shots of monofilament or fluorocarbon.
