AFTCO continues green crusade with clothing made of bottles

Innovative US clothing maker AFTCO has partnered with a company that transforms single-use plastic bottles into a resin that makes clothing.
The result of its association with REPREVE is that it is converting the scourge of the oceans to make shirts with each one it manufactures saving up to 21 sea-bound bottles.
“While we know there is still a long path ahead, AFTCO is committed to reducing the impact we leave on our waterways,” says the AFTCO Product Team. “Reducing plastic pollution with your next apparel purchase starts with buying high quality goods, repairing when possible and utilising local clothing donation centres.”
AFTCO’s REPREVE Our Ocean Collection includes a range of shirts made of recycled polyester from bottles that were bound for the ocean but were gathered and spun into a fabric that will keep anglers protected and comfortable on the water.
REPREVE’s textile partners include some of the largest names in the clothing industry including Quicksilver, American Backcountry and EcoGear.
