With Europe its second largest market, Japanese tackle box supplier Meiho is delighted to be back at a European trade show.
The company’s Hiroaki Kiymoto told Angling International: “Sales in the region amount to the highest next to our domestic market so it’s a very important exhibition for us as it is a rare chance to conduct business meetings with distributors face-to-face. It is the only trade exhibition in Europe and without it there are difficulties for the trade.
“As an industry event, the show is needed as a meeting place and a venue where we can discuss industry trends.”
Kiymoto added that Germany and France are Meiho’s biggest markets in Europe and as well as looking for distribution possibilities in other countries in the region, it is also paying more attention to the Middle East in the future.

At Angling International LIVE Meiho will be showing off the latest addition to its range – a wallet-style, slim double-sided storage case that has been designed for trout and light game fly fishermen.
Inside, it utilises foam-integrated detachable plates that enable a flexible arrangement of storage compartments. When closed, the plates prevent the hooks and spoons from tangling, ensuring stress-free access to lures and flies.
Founded in 1955, with a plastic moulding business based in Kaminan, Japan, Meiho is a five-time consecutive winner of the Good Design Award in the early 2000s with a manufacturing and distribution base in Reno, Nevada.
