Rapidly expanding Angling Direct has hit the acquisition trail again by adding Shropshire’s largest tackle shop to its ranks.
The purchase of Shrewsbury-based Total Angling follows the acquisition of HF Angling of Crewe, Cheshire, in February and comes hot on the heels of the openings of its first store in mainland Europe in Utrecht, Netherlands, and its 51st group outlet in Newark, Nottinghamshire in the last month.
Announcing the latest move on Linkedin, the Norfolk-based company, said: “This is a substantial milestone for Angling Direct and we are thrilled to gain the knowledge and expertise of the current TA team. It is a fantastic tackle shop with a great customer base which we are looking forward to meeting.
“Going forward, we will be combining our teams, websites and changing over the social media pages with a full refurbishment and open day set for early September. In the short term, the store is open as usual, delivering the best possible service backed by our MyAD membership and Price Checker promise.”
