The SAKURA 2025 collection marks a major renewal of the French brand with more than 450 new references that will include rods, braids and lures.
RYOKAN FW/SW CASTING & SPINNING RODS
A range that brings together 25 rods dedicated to freshwater and sea fishing. It boasts a complete line-up of lure rods that are equipped with Fuji rings and offer an enticing quality-price ratio.
By using IM30T carbon layers on the blanks, SAKURA Product Manager Franck Rosmann says it has reduced the weight by up to 30% compared to similar models in the price range. “These rods are impressive in terms of comfort, robustness and sensitivity,” he says.
The slim version of the Fuji Concept O-Rings are perfectly suited because they offer performance and lightness. The aluminium oxide ceramic is compatible with all types of lines – braid, nylon and fluorocarbon. The rods also have Fuji K-Tangle Free frames which significantly limit the risk of tangling when casting.
“The Ryokan FW is varied and will satisfy all freshwater predator fishermen whether for light techniques after perch or trout or more muscular pike using swimbaits,” explains Rosmann. “The SW range is also complete and is intended for those passionate about tracking bass or tuna as well as slow jigging.”
For the full line-up go to:
BELTZA SPINNING RODS
With its technical characteristics, premium materials and a sophisticated and futuristic design, this series combines performance and comfort of use. Made of high modulus HM40T carbon and equipped with Fuji rings, these rods are ultra-sensitive and promise an ‘unrivalled’ fishing experience.
The design of the BELTZA is based on cutting-edge engineering which translates into meticulous work on the HM40T carbon layers integrated into the blanks. This underpins remarkably light and resonant rods. “We recommend them for all ‘scratch’ fishing with soft lures, targeting perch, zander and bass, but the BELTZA also performs very well with hard lures such as poppers, stickbaits or minnows,” says Rosmann.
CRANKIT CRANKBAIT SERIES
A silent crankbait that is essential for quickly exploring areas in search of active fish or triggering reflex attacks. It is said to be an essential lure for perch, asp, black bass, zander and pike.
It is one of very few crankbaits that are equipped with a magnetic internal mass transfer system. “We have worked on this system using minnows for fishing at sea to increase the precision and casting distance,” says Rosmann.
The range of sizes and colours allow anglers to deal with many situations in lakes and rivers.
It is available in three versions:
BIG PIKE SHAD 150mm/48g & 200mm/113g
With its unique shape, this bait gets to work as soon as it is submerged and delivers a marked rolling action that makes it easier to spot at distances thanks to the resulting flashing effect. It is designed to be used on a ‘shallow rig’ assembly that will allow you to adjust the weight according to the area you are fishing, but also to protect the lure by releasing it from the assembly as soon as it strikes. A wide range of colours allows it to face all situations.
COVER BLADED JIG 10.5g/3.8oz
Developed for fans of SAKURA’s Cajun Bladed Jig, this evolution is perfectly suited to busy environments subjected to high fishing pressure. SAKURA has reduced the size of the blade to give it a fast oscillation and offer a comfortable feeling while fishing as its silhouette glides through the weeds to achieve its goal. By adding six titanium elytra wings it achieves the goal of allowing you to prospect cluttered areas with limited risk of snagging.
Rosmann adds: “To be efficient, the Cover Bladed Jig must come to life quickly, as soon as the water pressure on the blade is strong enough to set it in motion. Thanks to our design, it is almost instantaneous! You can carry out rapid prospecting and trigger bites as soon as it enters the water. Just like our Cajun Bladed Jig, its finish and high-end materials make it one of the best value-for-money baits of its kind.”
