Three Rapala senior managers leave to ‘pursue new career opportunities’

Share

Three members of Rapala VMC’s General Management Team are to leave the group to ‘pursue’ new career opportunities outside the business.

Executive Vice Presidents Päivi Ohvo, Enrico Ravenni and Joni Tuominen have left the group with immediate effect, but will assist in transferring their current duties to other members of the group during a transition period.

Announcing the move on Friday, Rapala told investors that the group continues to implement its strategic plan by continuously becoming more agile on all operational levels, fulfilling the promise of being the best partner in the business.

“This approach is best enhanced by bringing decision-making closer to local markets and defining clear country and regional accountabilities,” said Rapala in a statement.

Executive Vice President David Neill will step down from the General Management Team (GMT) and return to his former position of President of Rapala Canada, reporting to Rapala USA President Marcus Twidale.

The group will not look for replacements to the existing GMT, reducing the number of members from 11 to seven. Responsibilities of the existing GMT members will be distributed between the remaining members or reorganised.

It was also announced that Chief Operating Officer Jean-Phillippe Nicolle will strongly focus on European improvement initiatives in addition to his global duties, reporting to Deputy CEO Cyrille Viellard. He will continue to be a member of the GMT.

“I want to thank Päivi, Enrico and Joni for their outstanding service for Rapala VMC Corporation during all those years we have shared together. I wish them all the best in the future,” said Rapala President and CEO Lars Ollberg.
