Gruppo will use ICAST to showcase three new fishing line developments as it looks to strengthen its presence in the United States and expand relationships across the Americas.
The Italian supplier will introduce two new fluorocarbon lines and a premium hybrid sinking model at the show, which it describes as one of the most important events on the global sportfishing calendar.
Among the launches is iFluorocarbon (above), an entry-level fluorocarbon designed to combine dependable performance with a competitive price-point. Also making its debut is Fluorocarbon Oblivion, a high-performance line engineered for exceptional abrasion resistance, low stretch and near-zero memory.
Completing the trio is SHT Ultra Sinking, a premium sinking line developed for inland waters through a co-extrusion process that combines nylon and fluorocarbon. With a specific gravity of 1.28, the line is designed to maintain maximum tension and straightness for improved bite detection, while its supple structure helps reduce casting shock. Gruppo says the line also delivers excellent knot strength and abrasion resistance.
The company views ICAST as a strategically important event due to the size and dynamism of the U.S. market.
“ICAST is one of the premier platforms in our industry, bringing together a highly qualified professional audience and key market players,” said Gruppo Director Nicola Dagnino. “We have been attending for many years because it consistently delivers valuable insights and strong networking opportunities.”
In addition to its U.S. focus, Gruppo is also targeting opportunities in South America during this year’s show.
Dagnino added that ICAST continues to outperform many other international trade events, which have experienced stagnation or declining attendance in recent years.
“ICAST continues to stand out by consistently delivering new insights and surprises,” said Dagnino. “The U.S. represents such a large and dynamic market that every opportunity has the potential to turn into something tangible.”
Looking back at last month’s EFTTEX, Dagnino reported a higher attendance than the previous year, although visitor numbers remained below the levels seen several years ago. Despite this, he told Angling International that he was pleased with the quality of meetings held during the event, particularly with new prospective customers.
“We are confident these connections will lead to the development of new collaborations,” he added.
Dagnino also called for additional initiatives to increase visitor engagement at future editions of EFTTEX, warning that the exhibition risks becoming less attractive to the industry if attendance does not improve.
The company expects to return for next year’s EFTTEX exhibition in Prague.
