Finnish fishing clothing maker Ursuit Oy has struck a prestigious deal that will see it supply suits for its country’s fighter pilots.
The company has started to deliver the FIN 35 suit – the result of years of development – to the Finnish Air Force. The clothing is made of flame retardant material that is tested to withstand the rigours an emergency exit by an ejector seat at high speed.
Ursuit makes a range of apparel for all types of outdoor sports and military use. The company’s Tommi Ahonen told Angling International: “We are proud to have struck this deal.
“Among other things, this says that our product development, production, testing and choice of components and fabrics are at a very high level. We produce suits for those in high-risk jobs and everything we manufacture is made with the same level of expertise no matter whether it is for a fighter pilot or a jacket and pair of trousers for fishermen.”
Ahonen revealed that the company is planning a ‘few new things’ for its fishing and boating customers in the next year.”
