Apparel specialist FINNTRAIL goes in search of new distributors

FINNTRAIL has built its fishing apparel business around a simple idea: gear should withstand the conditions anglers actually face. The Estonia-based brand develops durable, weatherproof clothing for long days on the water.
That philosophy began outside fishing. FINNTRAIL originally developed apparel for ATV riders, who need protection from abrasive mud, sand and dust thrown up by vehicles, as well as wind and water encountered at high speeds. When anglers increasingly began choosing its waders and jackets, the company saw an opportunity to apply that expertise to fishing.
“As our customer base grew, we noticed a clear trend: our waders and jackets were increasingly being chosen by anglers,” the company says. “We wanted to understand why, so we started researching and talking to them directly. Their feedback consistently pointed to two key qualities: reliability and durability.”

For anglers, these are not simply product features but essential requirements. Fishing can mean spending an entire day in heavy rain and strong winds, wading through shallow water and navigating rocks, brush, reeds and other obstacles that rub against and strain clothing. Equipment failure or frequent repairs can spoil the entire experience.
Today, FINNTRAIL’s fishing range focuses primarily on wading and boat fishing. It includes outerwear, insulated garments for ice fishing, footwear, layering and accessories. Key ranges include the Tournament Set for boat anglers, the fly fishing–focused Proguide Set and the Wademan Set for spin fishing. Together, they reflect FINNTRAIL’s approach to creating complete equipment solutions for different fishing styles and conditions.
FINNTRAIL works with established technologies including Polartec, Toray, Hipora, Michelin, Vibram, DuPont Sorona and ATOP, among others, and continues to expand this network.
Its products have received five EFTTEX Best New Product Awards. FINNTRAIL was also an official sponsor of the Swedish, Finnish and Dutch teams competing at the 43rd World Fly Fishing Championship in France.

Alongside a strong, established presence in its home region, FINNTRAIL is growing rapidly in Germany, France and Canada and seeking opportunities in new markets. As its fishing range and international footprint expand, the company is looking to grow its dealer network, with priority markets including Scandinavia, the UK, Italy and Poland.
France demonstrates the potential of this approach. In 2025, FINNTRAIL began working with Fish Connection, a leading distributor in the premium fishing lure segment with an established network and strong market expertise. Since then, FINNTRAIL’s revenue in France has tripled.
For distributors and retailers, the proposition extends beyond the products themselves. FINNTRAIL invests across multiple marketing channels to build awareness and generate demand for its partners. This includes developing its social media communities, collaborating with local fishing influencers and content creators, and participating in major fishing and industry events such as YPC Show, ANGELWELT, EFTTEX, Sportfiskemässan, Toronto Sportsmen Show and WPC tournaments, among others.

The company also offers competitive commercial terms and a flexible partner programme, with conditions designed to strengthen margins, reduce barriers to cooperation and support sustainable, long-term growth.
Distribution and retail partners receive product training, educational materials, high-quality photo and video content, catalogues, co-branded social media opportunities, paid traffic campaigns directed to dealer websites and support for joint participation in local fishing events.
Says FINNTRAIL: “We offer retailers and distributors the opportunity to build a complete fishing apparel offering around one brand. Our portfolio covers different types of fishing and a wide range of products, allowing partners to meet the different needs of customers across seasons without having to source every category from multiple suppliers.”
Importantly, FINNTRAIL is now fully focused on B2B. It has no direct-to-consumer presence and does not sell through online marketplaces, leaving those sales channels entirely to local distributors and retailers.

“We do not compete with our dealers for end customers. Our focus is on supporting our partners, helping them generate demand and building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships,” the company says.
FINNTRAIL is seeking distributors and retailers interested in developing a durable, differentiated fishing apparel brand in their territories.
