EFTTEX reaction: ‘We never expected to win two awards’

Italian tackle brand Scorziello SASA left EFTTEX with two major awards and renewed confidence in its product development strategy, after winning recognition in both the saltwater reel and line categories.
Speaking after the show in Barcelona, the company’s Export Manager, Armando Zito (above right with company founder Antonio Scorziello), said the awards validated the extensive research, product selection and design work undertaken by its team.
“Personally, I expected to get one award, but I certainly didn’t expect to get two, considering the strength of the competition in the saltwater categories and the brands participating this year,” he explained.
The saltwater reel award went to the Tica Iron Claw, a result Zito believes underlines the strength of its collaboration with the Tica development team. “It’s a sign that Tica knows exactly where to focus its efforts and confirms that the synergy and commitment behind the project are the right choices.”

The saltwater line award for the Jatsui Moonster braided line underlined the growing attention that it has received in the market.
While the awards were a highlight, Scorziello SASA used EFTTEX primarily to support Spanish distributor Turkana, which exhibited at the show for the first time. Sharing stand space with its distributor enabled the company to showcase the latest developments from its brands and strengthen relationships across the Mediterranean and wider European markets.
Barcelona’s strong saltwater focus also proved beneficial. “For those of us working closely in the saltwater market, the location helped attract visitors who were genuinely interested in our products and activities,” he said.
The company reported solid visitor traffic throughout the event, with particular interest in recently launched products and several of its newer brands. It also welcomed numerous contacts from Mediterranean markets.
Looking beyond the exhibition, Scorziello SASA says its business continues to perform strongly. Zito added that over the past 12 months, it has recorded growth in sales volumes, expanded its workforce and continued to evolve its operations despite a period of organisational change and rebranding initiatives.
“Some processes are still ongoing, but I believe we are improving and the results will become clear over the long term,” he said.
“We’re continuing our winning streak. We’re growing, evolving dynamically and hiring. These are all positive factors. I’m optimistic about the future of our project. New challenges are already emerging and when there is motivation, everything is possible.”
Scorziello SASA also reaffirmed its support for EFTTEX, describing it as an essential meeting place for the tackle trade and a valuable benchmark for measuring industry progress.
“EFTTEX remains a necessary event for the good of sportfishing and a useful way of understanding where we have come from, where we are and where we are going,” Zito added.
