Shimano UK appoints new Managing Director

Shimano UK Sales and Marketing Manager Richard Maude has replaced retiring Ian Latham as Managing Director of the company.

Maude (main picture), who joined Shimano in February 2023, took up his post this week in preparation for Latham’s departure in June after eight years in the role.

“Taking up this position is a huge appointment for me – it is a boyhood dream come true,” Maude told Angling International this week.

A passionate and lifelong angler, Maude added that it will be business as usual at Shimano as the brand continues to enjoy steady growth in what he described as a UK market that is in a ‘very healthy’ state.

“The UK is in a good place with huge demand for products at all price points,” he said.

Up to his retirement Latham will be working on a local and European level at Shimano UK as an advisor.
