Hanhigh invites European rod buyers to ‘feel the difference’

With so many rod manufacturers exhibiting at China Fish, it takes something special to stand out. For Hanhigh rod factory owner Wang Qian Gang, that ‘something’ is a deep understanding of the European market – and a commitment to getting rod actions, design and finish absolutely right.
“After so many years serving customers, we know the European market well,” he says. “So at China Fish we focus on showing the exact actions those customers need, combined with designs that match European aesthetic standards. When buyers handle our rods, they immediately understand our professionalism and our respect for product quality.”
Hanhigh has been involved in the fishing tackle industry for around 30 years, with more than 20 years of rod production and quality-control expertise. That heritage has helped the Weihai-based factory build one of the most comprehensive OEM ranges in the region – from entry-level to premium rods across spinning, carp, feeder, lure, predator and more.
“Our wide range is important,” says Wang (main image). “It shows our development capability and the experience we have accumulated over many years. But more important is that buyers can see how carefully we pay attention to detail. That is what creates trust.”
Unlike some factories that focus only on large-volume business, Hanhigh welcomes all visitors to its stand – from major European brands to smaller importers and retailers. “We do not refuse any customers,” Wang explains. “Big brands can share valuable market trends, while smaller customers often give us insight into end-user demands. Because our range is so wide, we can meet the needs of every type of partner.”

So, what matters most to new customers? From many years exhibiting at international shows, Wang has learned that the first priority for visiting buyers is simple: the product.“If they like the rods, they will come into the booth and talk,” he says. “Then of course they want to understand pricing, delivery and the usual questions. But it always begins with the right product.”
Hanhigh’s experienced engineering team – together with strict production management systems – helps ensure that those expectations can be met. “We are confident we can supply the correct products because we understand both the technical and business demands of our partners,” says Wang.
Visitors to Hanhigh at China Fish will almost always meet Wang himself – something he believes is important for building confidence. “As the owner, I want first-hand information from customers,” he explains. “That helps us keep improving and ensures we provide the best service.”
And how do you get the most from a meeting at the Hanhigh booth? Wang encourages new visitors to share both their first impressions and their detailed requirements. “When they approve the action and quality of our rods, we like to hear their feedback and their ideas. At the same time, we hope they will also listen to our suggestions, so we can understand each other and match the product exactly to the market needs.”
After that, timelines depend on the level of development required, but Wang says many European customers follow a structured process. “Normally you choose the models, make samples, test them, and then place orders,” he explains. “From first discussion at China Fish to launch in the market is often six to twelve months. For existing models with only cosmetic changes, it can be faster – sometimes even in time for summer.”
