EFTTEX provides welcome opportunities for Japanese line maker

Following a severely challenging 2024 for Japanese line maker Momoi, the company was happy to see the return of EFTTEX and take the chance to pick up new business.
The company’s General Manager, Ken Harada, told Angling International: “Political factors around the world, notably the war in Ukraine and the tariffs imposed by incoming US President Donald Tump, greatly affected business last year.
“We have not attended a European trade show since 2019, so a return to EFTTEX was welcome and filled us with optimism. Although the show was much smaller than we are used to, it still presented us with a chance to meet new customers and have discussions about future business.”
Harada added that EFTTEX is still an important show for Momoi and that it has already booked its place for next year’s event in Barcelona.
“There is a trend for the big brands in Europe to sell directly to retailers from their bases in the region. However, a company like us does not have such big business volumes to warrant a warehouse in Europe. That is why EFTTEX is important to us.”
Star of the show for Momoi was its EFTTEX debutant, Cast Mania Mono, a new concept line that maintains the high strength and durability that are the hallmarks of Momoi monofilament while enhancing long-distance casting performance. Judges of the New Product Awards appreciated the line, voting it runner-up in the Carp, Feeder & Coarse Line category.
Its high durability means it can withstand friction from obstacles when retrieving from distant points and abrasion on sandy ground. Its low elongation design ensures that even the slightest bites won’t be missed.
