Italian tackle supplier praises its designer for award-winning lure

Top Italian fishing tackle supplier Scorziello Sasa, owner of the Jatsui brand, paid tribute to its designer after winning its second European trade show award in successive years.

The company picked up the award for Best Spinning and Baitcasting hard lure for the Cometa and its management team immediately thanked its designer Sebastiano ‘The Engineer’ Maviglia for his work on the creation. “In some ways, it is his child,” the company’s Import/Export Manager, Armando Zito (below, left, with owner Antonio Scorziello) told Angling International.

Scorziello Sasa also picked up runners-up places for two of its reels – the Sasa Vector VT and the Brutality II BT 9000 – to make it a memorable show for the company. “When you win an award your thoughts inevitably turn to how you got there. This year rewarded an excellent performance within the team,” added Zito.

“For the company, winning an international award is certainly a clear sign that your work is moving in the right direction.”

Zito added that Scorziello Sasa enjoyed a successful show in Brussels. “It was great because we achieved what we set out to do. Personally, it was good to spend time with business partners, acquaintances, curious visitors to our booth and friends, both during and after the show.”

This year has represented a turning-point for the business following an internal reorganisation that has seen it review its strategies to focus increasingly on building its distribution network.

“I am optimistic for 2026 and happy to report improvements that I believe will show that the work we have put in will not be in vain. I expect that trend to continue and result in growth.”

Scorziello Sasa achieves catalogue launch goal

Scorziello Sasa has achieved its goal of launching three catalogues in 2025.

The fast-moving company got off to a flying start with the introduction of the Spring New Arrivals catalogue which was showcased to the public during the two stages of the Pescare Show in Rimini and Naples. “This was a strong indication in the direction that Scorziello Sasa was heading this year,” said Armando Zito, the company’s Import/Export Manager.

The catalogue highlighted:
Bad Bass: the surfcasting brand underwent an impressive total restyle with a new identity and renewed graphic design.
Captain J: already known for its selection of trolling lures, it has entered the rod market with two new series – Sniper and Sea Master – with the aim of revolutionising offshore fishing.
Wax: introduced itself and has quickly established a presence in the market with spinning and surfcasting reels that are set to change to perception of quality in the mid-to-low price range.
Jatsui: launched the Moonster braided line, described as ‘truly one of a kind’, featuring diamond braiding, fluorocarbon coating and hydrophobic properties.

In July Jatsui released a catalogue dedicated to eging and the many innovations it introduces every year, including the 2025 EFTTEX award-winning Cometa, plus spinning tackle in the shape of newly designed rods and lures.

The third publication – the 2026 Catalogue – brings a wave of all the new products from all the brands distributed by Scorziello.

“Our goal for 2026 is not only to continue to confirm our leadership in the Mediterranean – strengthening the ever-evolving distribution network – but also expand into the countries where we do not have a presence,” explained Zito. “The first step has already been taken thanks to our recent partnership in Australia, which began this month.”

Zito added: “We welcome anyone interested in distribution partnerships and invite interest parties to our headquarters in Salerno province.”
